Parents For Joy

paving the way so all kids can play!

Parents For Joy is a group of parents, families, and friends living in and around the small town of Atascadero, who have children with special needs.

Our community was in need of a playground that would enhance the safety and involvement of children with special needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Visual Impairment, just to name a few. 

Our vision was to one day see our children playing together with other children, raising awareness, and building friendships.

And, of course, having fun!

We worked for over six years and officially opened Joy Playground in April 2019!

​This playground isn't just for children with special needs, it's for everyBODY! 

​We would like to see our community be more inclusive so we are now working on an inclusive splash pad to be built next to the playground. 

​What will we do next??
